Campaigns from the UK, South Africa and Mexico have been judged amongst the best in the Press Advertising category at the 51st annual D&AD judging event taking place this week at London’s Olympia Exhibition Centre.
Says Alexandre Gama, foreman of the Press Advertising Jury at D&AD 2013: “One of the challenges of judging is to filter out the inspirational, scene changing ideas from those that we’ve seen before. Recycled ideas are never a good thing. It’s a challenging time for our industry right now but it’s also one of the most inspirational. With digital and the web continuing to be disruptive, I’ve looked this year for campaigns that have broken the mould and set out to revolutionise how we think and can do things differently.”
Nominations in the category went to:
- The Sunday Times Rich List Campaign – Sport by CHI & Partners for News International
- Mother’s Favourites by TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris Johannesburg for Tiger Brands, Enterprise
- Selfies by Lowe Cape Town for Independent Newspapers, Cape Times
- Circle by Young & Rubicam Mexico for Araceli Roldán Alcalá, Save the Children
Entrants will have to wait until the award ceremony on 12 June to find out whether they have been awarded a coveted Yellow Pencil.
